3️⃣API Key and Permission Sets

Instructions to set up an API Key and Permission Set to use the application.

In order to access the UK Companies House Data Connector, you must do 3 things:

1. Add the API Key to the External Credential

2. (Optional) Create a new Permission Set

3. Apply the Permission Set to the User

Add the API Key to the External Credential

1. Navigate to Setup -> Named Credentials

   
2. Select the 'External Credentials' tab and select 'UK Companies House EC'

   
3. Scroll down to the 'Customer Headers' section and select 'New'

1. In the Name field, enter 'Authorization.' In the Value field, paste in your API Key obtained from Step 1.

(Optional) Create a New Permission Set

1. Feel free to leverage an existing Permission Set for the final step. Or you can create a new one.

2. Select Setup -> Permission Sets -> New

1. Provide a Label, API Name, and Description. You can leave 'Session Activation Required' blank and 'License' as --None-- and select 'Save.'

1. On the Permission Set Details Page select 'External Credential Principal Access' -> 'Edit' -> Add 'UK_Companies_House_EC' from Available (left) to Enabled (right) External Credential Principals and click 'Save'

Apply the Permission Set to the Use

1. On the Permission Set Details, select 'Manage Assignments'

   

2. Select 'Add Assignment' and select the User(s) you with to provide access to this app and select 'Next.' If you created your own Dev Org, this would be your name.

3. Leave 'No expiration date' as the default value and select 'Assign'
